Yes, backup cameras are allowed but you must demonstrate proper observational skills. You should always check your rear-view mirrors and look over your shoulder when reversing without relying on your camera.

Driving too slowly, or with undue hesitation is seen as a hazard, especially if you're holding up traffic. It’s important to drive with confidence at the posted speed limit, adjusting as required to suit traffic conditions.

Rolling stops or not stopping completely

Michigan Driving Information
The Michigan driving test is overseen by the Michigan Department of State, but unlike many other states, the actual driving exams are not conducted at Secretary of State (SOS) offices. Instead, road tests are carried out by authorized third-party testing centers located across the state.
Graduated Licensing & Learner’s Permit Requirements
Michigan follows a Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) system, so if you're under 18 years of age, before you take your driving test you must:
Complete Segment 1 and Segment 2 of driver education.
Hold a Level 1 Learner’s License for at least 6 months.
Log a minimum of 50 hours of supervised driving, including at least 10 hours at night.
Pass a vision screening and written knowledge test.
Once you have completed these steps, you can take your driving test to qualify for a Level 2 Intermediate License.
Parallel Parking is a Requirement
Parallel parking is part of the Michigan road test (unlike many other States). It’s included in the basic control skills portion of the exam, which also includes backing, turning, and parking maneuvers.
Michigan Road Rules
Michigan Left Turns: Instead of turning left, at many major intersections, drivers are required to make a right turn, followed by a U-turn which is commonly known as a "Michigan Left."
Headlight Use: Michigan law requires headlights to be used when visibility is reduced (such as during rain, snow, or fog), even during the daytime.
Emergency Vehicles: You must move over or slow down when approaching stationary emergency or maintenance vehicles displaying flashing lights.
Choosing a Test Location
Some locations are in busy urban areas, while others are in quieter suburbs. The layout of the test route, traffic density, and complexity of intersections can therefore differ significantly. If you're nervous about taking your road test... consider practicing in a quieter location.
Bring Your Own Vehicle
You are required to bring your own vehicle, which must be deemed roadworthy following checks for:
Proper registration and insurance.
A valid license plate.
Working signals, brakes, seat belts, mirrors, etc.
A clear windshield with no defects
No dashboard warning lights.
Seat Belts Are Mandatory
All occupants, including you and your sponsor, must be wearing seat belts before the test begins, or face immediate failure.
Two-Part Test Structure
The Michigan road test is divided into:
Basic Control Skills - Performed in an enclosed course or parking lot area (includes reverse parking, 3-point turns, and parallel parking).
On-Road Driving - Taking place on public roads, evaluating your ability to safely operate a vehicle in real traffic.
